Riddle me this. I go to bed early after a restful evening of TV and a healthy dinner. I get up at 6am and struggle to maintain low 8 minute pace for the beginning of my run. Fast forward to Sunday morning. Actually, let's take a quick tour through Saturday night: a concert at belly up, a few PBRS, and finally going to bed at, well let's just leave it at late. I clamor out of bed around 9:30 and manage to lace up my shoes and strap on the Garmin. I cruise to a 7:30 first mile and comfortably maintain sub-8 min pace for the remaining 4 miles. I should have been crawling.
So, I guess my conclusion is I run way better later in the day. I may try and switch a few of my runs to the afternoons so I can get some more quality in.
