Feelin' recovered.

Happy to report that last night I managed to both get in my second run and hit up the gym. Score one for Julie's motivation.

This morning I almost didn't make it out for my run. I lounged in bed a little too long and musta dozed without realizing because all of a sudden it was 7 which is far too late but I wanted the afternoon off so I rushed out the door for a little Fartlek action.

2 mi warm up
Goal: 2 min "on" (6 min pace) 3 min "off" (steady - 7-7:15 pace) x6
2 mi cool down + quick soak in the ocean.
Total Miles - 8.04


Kinda made this workout up on my own just trying to get some practice at not going from hard to "pitter pat" as my HS coach used to call it. Really tried to keep the pace honest between intervals and mostly succeeded. I'd peg my current distance pace at between 7:30-7:45s so the goal was to come down to a speed that was still quicker than a regular run. My watch got screwy on the first "off" so the pace was a little skewed cuz I stopped for about 20-30 seconds. Overally ran about where I wanted to be...some were a little slow due to my amazing timing of going completely uphill the entire interval.

I worry that when I workout alone sometimes its hard to really push myself. So it felt good to have the stomach roll as opposed to just fighting fatigue. Super pumped at how well my legs are recovering from H2C. Really glad I was able to be smart and stay comfortable for my relay legs. I may be stepping in for an injured teammate this weekend and I'm feeling pretty confident that even though it'll only have been a week since H2C that my legs will be good to go.

Oh, and on a MORE IMPORTANT note, today is my wonderful Mother's birthday! Happy Birthday Mom :-D
