Going out in Copenhagen

I'd like to describe the scene of last Saturday night, because it is a unique experience to go out in Copenhagen. I am used to going out in several cities. In San Fran you hail a cab, in New York you catch the subway, in San Diego there's the dutiful designated driver, and in college students can walk from dorm to dorm for parties. Not so in Copenhagen. Picture the scene of 20 or so students pouring from an apartment, breaking the silence of the dark and peaceful night. They pull flashing lights from their pockets and clip them to their bikes, and all at once they are off, a herd of young adults pedaling down the street. Some are more adept at biking than others, some are just more sober. Atleast one takes an unfortunate spill (which was impressive considering he was at a standstill) They speed down the street obeying the traffic lights, a group of international students from all over the world with the common goal of getting their next cup of beer.
