Return of the Workout

Wed - 8 mi
6x800 with 1 minute rest
Drills and Strides

After almost a month hiatus from workouts to just focus on getting my body okay with the fact that we are finally running real mileage again, I decided that with about three weeks till the cross country season, it was time to get my ass in gear.

As much as I love the consistency of the track, it's too hard to get too in the morning unless I want to be up before 6, and after work there's always the risk of working late or the track beign occupied by one practice or another. Plus, this is XC season, so I should probably get used to running as if i was on a XC course. So I hit the roads and went back and forth on one relatively flat section of the 101. Times were definitely not stellar (and I forgot to adjust my watch beforehand, so actually didn't know my splits till I uploaded) but it was good to finally get out there and do a workout again.

After my cooldown I slipped off the running shoes and did some drills and strides barefoot on the beach before spending a little time in the ocean to cool off. Life is pretty good.
